TELEVISION APPEARANCE IN 1988

In relation to his major 1988 hit ”Beat of the Drum” from the album Presence Martin Hall appeared on The National Danish Television’s big show at the time, ”The Fly”, in December 1988. On this occasion he performed this track as well as the upcoming single, ”Real Thing”. The latter was later released as a remix entitled ”Surreal Thing”.

The band on stage features Hall’s album co-producer Flemming Nygaard (piano), Henrik Möll (keyboards), Peter Leander (bass), Thomas Langballe (drums), Henrik Tvede (guitar), Berit Spælling (harp) as well as the two backing vocalists Lotte Gundlev and Tina Schäfer.

The picture of Flemming Nygaard at the piano is one the fairly rare photos of him available – he died of a drug overdose eight months after the television recording, in the late summer of 1989.
